I'm selling my
amazing 1990 Martin J12-40M. It's in spectacular condition for its
age. Very little wear, no major dings, dents or scratches. It's
never had any structural issues or repairs either. For a 12-string
guitar, this Martin is incredibly easy to play. The action is low and
it's more comfortable to play than many 6-string acoustics.
I can't begin
to describe the sound of this guitar. First, it's a Martin, so you
know it sounds great. But the lush tone of a 12-string Martin goes
beyond great. It's loud. It's deep but articulate and never muddy.
If you need amplification for live or studio work this '90 J12 is
factory-fitted with a Barcus Berry transducer under the bridge with
an end-pin jack. The pickup sounds great but there are no external
volume or EQ controls for it. It simply sends the audio signal to an
amp or board.
The build
quality is as good as you would expect and this is also a
"well-dressed" Martin. The jumbo body features meticulous binding
front and back. The ebony neck is bound as well and sports oversized
hexagonal abalone markers. The back of the guitar is richly grained
and a delicate inlay stripe runs the length. The headstock is the
typical Martin shape but the gold tuners with solid ebony buttons
are the crowing jewels. This is a beautiful guitar, in equally
beautiful condition.
The original
Martin hard-shell case is included. It is also in very nice
condition, fits like a glove, and protects this valuable guitar from
harm. |
